The Work Speaks the Language LA Understands

Los Angeles is where development deals are made, where pitch tapes get greenlit, and where the editorial credentials that matter — ACE membership, network credits, studio relationships — are understood at face value. This résumé is built for that conversation.

Development sizzle reels are where the LA industry connection runs deepest. I've edited development reels that got greenlit at Lionsgate, Universal Entertainment, 101 Studios, and Religion of Sports — proof-of-concept packages that moved from pitch to production. Soul Power: The Legend of the American Basketball Association premiered on Amazon Prime Video in February 2026, executive produced by Dr. J Julius Erving and Common. The Gotti Files — eight episodes for A&E, produced by Propagate Content and Lady Moon Entertainment, announced at the A&E 2026 Upfronts — is the series I'm currently editing as Co-Executive Editor.

On the narrative feature side, my debut Grace Point (2023) was directed by Rory Karpf — a Sports Emmy-winning director whose television credits run deep across ESPN, UFC, and major network documentary production. The film stars Andrew McCarthy and John Owen Lowe (son of Rob Lowe), with Jim Parrack. It premiered at the 2023 Santa Barbara International Film Festival — a festival with strong industry ties to the Los Angeles film community — and is now streaming on Tubi, Amazon, and Apple TV.

Short narrative film credits include Lex Talionis (dir. P.M. Nelson, currently in post), Underfunded (dir. Tommy Joe Martins), and Flowers (written by Din Thomas, UFC legend). Television credits span Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, A&E, TNT/HBO Max, ESPN, Peacock/NFL Films, and USA Network.

ACE Affiliate Member. Full member of the British Film Editors. Sports Emmy-nominated (2018). These are the professional credentials that carry weight in the Los Angeles market. I work on location in LA for the right project, and remotely for everything else.

Grace Point

Editor · Dir. Rory Karpf · 2023 · SBIFF Official Selection

Narrative feature starring Andrew McCarthy and John Owen Lowe (son of Rob Lowe), with Jim Parrack. Directed by Rory Karpf, whose television credits include major productions for ESPN and UFC. Premiered at the 2023 Santa Barbara International Film Festival before moving to streaming distribution.

Studio & Network Development — Greenlit Sizzle Reels

Development sizzle reels are the editorial format where the stakes are highest: one cut, one room, one shot. The following projects moved from development reel to greenlit production.

A&E · Propagate Content

The Gotti Files

Eight-episode true crime docuseries. Co-Executive Editor. Announced at the A&E 2026 Upfronts. Produced by Propagate Content and Lady Moon Entertainment, showrun by Rory Karpf. Features rare home movies, prison and wiretap audio, interviews with John Gotti Jr. and John Gotti III. Premieres 2027.

Amazon Prime Video · Hidden Pictures

Soul Power: The Legend of the ABA

Development sizzle that became a full production. Premiered on Amazon Prime Video February 12, 2026. Executive produced by Dr. J Julius Erving and Common. The story of the American Basketball Association and its outsized cultural impact on sports and American life.

Lionsgate

Development Reel

Pitch tape produced for Lionsgate development. The editorial challenge of a studio development reel is precision in a compressed format — every cut has to signal both tone and marketability. This one did its job.

Universal Entertainment

Development Reel

Proof-of-concept reel produced for Universal Entertainment development. Studio-facing pitch material that had to communicate genre, voice, and commercial viability in a single tight cut.

101 Studios

Development Reel

Development pitch produced for 101 Studios — the studio behind Yellowstone and 1883. Understanding the DNA of what a studio responds to editorially is different from knowing their catalog. Both matter in a pitch room.

Religion of Sports

Development Reel

Production company co-founded by Tom Brady, Michael Strahan, and Gotham Chopra. Sports storytelling at the intersection of culture and identity. Development material that had to match the company's cinematic standard for non-fiction sports content.

Short Narrative Films

Lex Talionis

Dir. P.M. Nelson — An award-winning director. Currently in post. Short narrative treated as a complete work — structure, performance, and rhythm held to the same standard as a feature.

In Post
Underfunded

Dir. Tommy Joe Martins — NASCAR owner turned first-time director. Working with directors outside the traditional film pathway means building editorial language from the ground up, which is among the more interesting problems in narrative post.

Editor
Flowers

Written by Din Thomas — UFC legend. Thomas brings the same specificity that made him a compelling figure in combat sports: grounded, character-first storytelling. The editorial task was honoring that voice while shaping a film.

Professional Memberships

ACE was founded in Los Angeles. The Eddie Awards happen in Los Angeles. In the Hollywood editing community, ACE membership carries a specific weight that no amount of streaming credits can replicate. BFE full membership adds an international dimension that matters in the co-production world.

ACE

ACE Affiliate Member

American Cinema Editors — the Hollywood-based professional organization for film and television editors. Founded in 1950 in Los Angeles. Home of the Eddie Awards, the editorial equivalent of the Academy Awards. Affiliate membership requires peer nomination and a demonstrated body of professional work reviewed by ACE members. It reflects standing in the editing community that is not purchased — it is recognized. In the Los Angeles market, ACE membership is the clearest professional signal an editor can carry.

BFE

BFE Full Member

British Film Editors — full membership in the UK counterpart to ACE. The BFE's international standing is particularly relevant for Los Angeles productions with transatlantic or international co-production structures, or for productions seeking talent whose professional credibility extends beyond the domestic market. Full BFE membership requires the same peer recognition as ACE — a body of work that the professional editing community has vetted and approved.

Why This Résumé Works for LA

Studio Development · Network Television · ACE Affiliate

The Los Angeles industry has a specific language. Development reels that get greenlit. Network credits that run at scale. ACE membership that the community recognizes. A festival premiere that the industry press covered. This is not a résumé built on proximity to LA — it is built on the kind of work that gets made in and for Los Angeles.

Lionsgate. Universal. 101 Studios. Amazon Prime Video. A&E. Netflix. ACE. That is the short version. If you are a Los Angeles producer, director, or development executive working on a project that needs an editor who understands both the craft and the industry, I would like to hear about it.

Common Questions

Is Corey Scott Frost available for Los Angeles productions?

Yes. I'm available for Los Angeles productions on location or remotely. I travel to LA regularly and work on location for the right project — feature productions, development sessions, director-editor conversations that benefit from being in the room. Most projects run remotely: clean file handoffs, responsive communication, no friction. I work in both Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro, adapting to whatever workflow the production is using. Home base is Charlotte, NC.

What studio development and sizzle reel work have you done?

I've edited development sizzle reels that were greenlit at Lionsgate, Universal Entertainment, 101 Studios, and Religion of Sports, alongside Amazon Prime Video (Soul Power, exec produced by Dr. J Julius Erving and Common) and A&E (The Gotti Files, produced by Propagate Content). A development reel is a high-stakes cut — it either sells the room or it doesn't. The track record here is reels that sold. More on the development side at coreyscottfrost.com/sizzle-reel-editor.

What is ACE and why does it matter for a Los Angeles production?

The American Cinema Editors is the Hollywood-based professional organization for film and television editors — founded in Los Angeles in 1950, home of the Eddie Awards (the editorial equivalent of the Academy Awards). ACE Affiliate membership is not a participation credential. It requires peer nomination and a demonstrated body of professional work reviewed by working ACE members. In the Los Angeles market, ACE membership is the clearest signal that an editor is operating at a recognized professional level within the industry community — not just carrying credits, but recognized by the community that gave those credits meaning.

Who has Corey worked with on feature film and television?

On the feature side, Grace Point (2023) was directed by Rory Karpf — a Sports Emmy-winning director with extensive credits across ESPN, UFC, and major network documentary productions. The film starred Andrew McCarthy and John Owen Lowe (son of Rob Lowe), with Jim Parrack. It premiered at SBIFF 2023. On television, current credits include Co-Executive Editor on The Gotti Files (A&E, 2027), produced by Propagate Content. Network credits span Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, TNT, HBO Max, ESPN, Peacock, USA Network, and the Olympic Channel — including a piece featuring Elton John.

What does a Co-Executive Editor credit mean on a docuseries?

Co-Executive Editor on a multi-episode docuseries is a senior editorial credit — it reflects responsibility not just for cutting episodes but for shaping the editorial voice of the series as a whole. On The Gotti Files (A&E, eight episodes), that means working at the level where editorial and creative decisions intersect: sequence structure, pacing philosophy, tone consistency across episodes, and collaboration with the showrunner and executive producers. At Propagate Content, where the producing team operates at a serious network level, that credit means what it says.
